Hinter die freiwillige Rückkehr afghanischer Menschen aus Deutschland muss ein großes Fragezeichen gesetzt werden, sagen die Macher*innen einer Studie der afghanischen Menschenrechtorganisation AHRDO. "Die Freiwilligkeit besteht in der Regel darin, zwischen zwei geringeren Übel wählen zu können also entweder, ich warte, bis ich abgeschoben werde, ich habe vielleicht schon einen Abschiebebescheid und kann mich dann noch zu einer freiwilligen Rückkehr entscheiden". Eine Reintegration in die afghanische Gesellschaft ist schwierig, denn die Rückkehrer seien durch die Flucht oft stark verschuldet und arbeitslos, der Staat kümmere sich nicht. Dadurch sind nach Afghanistan Zurückgekehrte und Abgeschobene empfänglich für Rekrutierungsversuche von terroristischen Gruppen. read more

One says he was blindfolded and burnt with a cigarette while another said his foot ended up broken in several places. A third migrant claims the authorities confiscated his money and clothes while others say they have been hit over the head with sticks. The Rohingya people are a Muslim minority group that formerly lived on the western coast of Myanmar (formerly Burma), a predominantly Buddhist country. This group has been persecuted for their religious beliefs ever since mid-nineteenth century. In 1977, they were denied citizenship and labeled as ‘illegal’ residents. Such laws started both military and civilian attacks on the group, forcing it into displacement. Nearly 200,000 Rohingya people escaped to Bangladesh, running away from mass arrests and violence and hoping for a better future. As of now, more than 600,000 Rohingya remain in Bangladesh. read more

I 149 migranti tratti in salvo dalle motovedette della Guardia Costiera, tra i quali 13 donne e 3 bambini, hanno riferito che sul barcone vi erano altre venti persone che risultano disperse. read more

Naufragio davanti all'isola di Lampedusa. Un grosso barcone con circa 150 migranti si è rovesciato di fronte all'isola dei Conigli. In 149 sono stati salvati e portati a terra dalle motovedette della Guardia costiera che stanno continuando le ricerche di eventuali dispersi. Smentita la notizia del recupero di cadaveri ma all'appello mancano diverse persone. Due uomini tra quelli portati a terra non trovano più le loro mogli che erano a bordo con loro.
