Last Sunday 122 people in distress were rescued near the Island of Rhodes. Meanwhile, a group of people on the move had become stranded at the Evros River crossing. The organization Alarm Phone reported violence at the Evros River crossing on the border of Greece and Turkey. The migrants, they say, suffered violence from both Greek and Turkish border guards on Saturday. In the coastal city of Nice, the mayor has ordered the closure of a migrant camp by court order. Whether this decision is legal, however, is in doubt. Police units ousted the migrants from their tents within a day and destroyed all the structures that had been erected. According to the local news agency actuNice, there is information that the migrants were not informed about the court decision.
