Rapport: Droits de l'homme à la frontière Sud 2014
Ce rapport de "l'Asociación Pro Derechos Humanos de Andalucía" sur les “Droits de l’Homme à la Frontière Sud» centre exclusivement la situation humanitaires et le degré de protection à Ceuta et Melilla, cette enclaves espagnoles sur la côte de l'Afrique du Nord. De toute évidence, les évènements qui se sont déroulés sur la plage de Tarajal à Ceuta le 6 février 2014 et la morte violente d’au moins 15 personnes ont été le facteur immediate qui nous a poussé à élaborer ce rapport sous un nouveau format.
Le rapport veut souligner que ces faits ne sont pas des cas isolés ou un lamentable accident ponctuel, bien au contraire, ils sont la conséquence directe de plus de deux décennies de procédures politiques, juridiques et policières de contrôle des frontières à Ceuta et Melilla au cours desquelles une réelle préoccupation pour le respect des droits fondamentaux a brillé par son absence. Surpeuplement indigne dans des locaux insalubres, des expulsions irrégulières qui violent la législation nationale et internationale (qui comprennent des mises sous sédatifs, l’expulsions de mineurs et les dévolutions directes aux forces de sécurité marocaines sans aucune procedure légale) ou l’utilisation de méthodes pour empêcher les entrées irrégulières qui mettent en danger la vie et l’intégrité physique des migrants (fils de barbelés coupants, utilisation de balles réelles pendant les évènements de 2005 ou de matériel antiémeute cette année).

1,403 people died in the Mediterranean Sea from Mai 2014
From the beginning of 2014 officials count 800 dead in the Mediterranean Sea between North Africa and Italy in the Straits of Sicily. According to our counts only from May 2014 and today, 27th of July, 648 people have died (counting only the dead bodies and not all the people who have drowned and are missing.) When counting even the people who were never found, and most likely lie at the bottom of the sea, there are about 1,403 people who have died in the attempt to cross the sea and arrive in Italy. read more

Gemeinsamer offener Brief zum "Einigungspapier Oranienplatz"
Wollen Sie Flüchtlinge schützen – oder wollen Sie es nicht? Die Flüchtlinge, die seit Oktober 2012 in Berlin für ihre Rechte demonstriert haben, räumten am 8. April 2014 freiwillig ihr Protestcamp am Oranienplatz. Ein Großteil der Flüchtlinge aus der Gerhart-Hauptmann-Schule zog unter massiver Polizeipräsenz Ende Juni 2014 aus der Schule aus. Die Orte des Protestes sind damit aufgegeben worden. Das ist eine Lösung: allerdings ausschließlich eine ordnungspolitische für den Berliner Senat. Eine Lösung für die Flüchtlinge, die das „Einigungspapier Oranienplatz“ betrifft, ist dagegen nicht in Sicht. read more

Swimming to Europe
We are a group of 20 friends (18 girls and 2 guys) from Munich, Zurich, Berlin, and Lake Constance with the crazy idea to swim from Asia to Europe. Our 6.5 km swim across the Bosphorus will take place on the 20th of July as part of the 26th Bosphorus Cross Continental Race (bogazici. olimpiyat.org.tr). We are participating in this swim both for simple enjoyment and in order to raise awareness for the fact that ‚swimming‘ to Europe is not always that simple. read more

What Europe Can Do to Ensure Protection and Solidarity. The conflict in Syria has now entered its fourth year, and as the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, the number of people forcibly displaced has reached record levels. More than 2.8 million refugees are registered or awaiting registra- tion in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, and over 6.5 million people are internally displaced in Syria. Amnesty International: The human cost of Fortress Europe
Every year, thousands of migrants and refugees try to reach Europe. The response of the European Union (EU) and its member states has been to invest in surveillance technology, security forces and detention centres with one overriding aim: to construct an impenetrable fortress at Europe’s borders to keep people out. This report describes some of the key elements of the EU’s migration policy and how this policy plays out at the EU border where Bulgaria and Greece meet Turkey, one of the main routes used by Syrian refugees seeking safety in the EU.
Amnesty claims that between 2007 and 2013, the EU has spent nearly 2 Billion Euros on fences and walls, whereas only 700 Million have been spent on refugees. Only Italy would take over responsibility to save refugees at the Mediterranean. Furthermore, the EU would cooperate with neighbouring countries which detain or even torture refugees to prevent them from moving on to Europe. Amnesty is asking for safe escape routes to Europe for people in need of protection.

Detention conditions and Juridical overview on detention & deportation mechanisms in Cyprus
Four detainees from Iran are on the roof of the Detention Center of Mennogeia since today morning, claiming that they are going to commit suicide if their long term detention will not end immediately (which is coming up to 25 and even 32 months). Calais: Never again ?!
We thought that we had witnessed the worst in 2009 with the destruction of the Afghan jungle; the mass arrest of 278 of its inhabitants and their
coordinated detention across the whole of France. However, this Wednesday 2 July 2014 the state showed how much further it can go. At 6am the CRS, PAF, Gendarme, and the Police Nationale undertook massive coordinated evictions and raids against the migrant population of Calais.

Calais migrants ont besoin d'aide urgent
Il ya plus de 1000 personnes migrantes à Calais à l'heure actuelle et de nouvelles personnes continuent d'arriver . C'est le nombre le plus élevé depuis la destruction des jungles en 2009 . Plupart sont des réfugiés de guerre, de nombreuses femmes , dont certaines enceintes ou avec de petits enfants , beaucoup de mineurs, parfois très jeunes, 14 ou moins . Handbook on European law relating to asylum, borders and immigration
After the success of the first edition, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) are today launching an update of their guide to European law on asylum, borders and immigration. As well as updating the material contained in the handbook published last year, the guide is being made available in a further languages. The Handbook on European law relating to asylum, borders and immigration, which builds on the experience of a previous joint project between the two institutions, was welcomed in particular by lawyers, judges and immigration practitioners, who work on such issues on an everyday basis.

Rapport "Frontex entre Grèce et Turquie : la frontière du déni"
À la frontière gréco-turque, l'agence européenne de surveillance des frontières, Frontex, participe à un dispositif qui empêche les refugiés de bénéficier de la protection internationale. Le dernier rapport de la campagne FRONTEXIT s'appuyant sur des dizaines de témoginages ainsi que de nombreux échanges avec Frontex documente des violations graves des droits humains. Les témoignages confirment la pratique d'expulsions collectives ("push back") : des bateaux de migrants sont incerceptés et remorqués par les gardes-côtes grecs vers la Turquie, souvent avec violence. read more

World Refugee Day: Europe should help Syria’s refugees!
Brussels, 20 June 2014. UNHCR reveals, that in the last 5 years Syria has gone from the world’s second largest refugee-hosting country to one of the countries with the most own refugees. Now a petition has been submitted, signed by 100 NGOs and 20’000 citizens. They want to ensure, that Europe gives protection to the refugees fleeing the Syrian war. The #HelpSyriasRefugees petition calls Europe to give refugees a safe way into Europe, reunite families torn apart by the crisis and protect the refugees arriving at Europe’s borders. read more

Kein neues Asylverfahren bei ausländischer Flüchtlingsanerkennung
Laut des Pressemitteilung des Bundesverwaltungsgerichts kann ein Flüchtling, der bereits einen Schutzstatus in einem anderen Land hat, keinen Asylantrag mehr in Deutschland stellen. "Ein Ausländer, der in einem anderen Staat bereits als Flüchtling anerkannt worden ist, kann in Deutschland nicht erneut Flüchtlingsschutz oder den Status eines subsidiär Schutzberechtigten beanspruchen. Ein erneuter Asylantrag ist unzulässig. Das hat das Bundesverwaltungsgericht in Leipzig heute entschieden." read more
