Sudan: large-scale sexual violence and other human rights violations

A UN report reveals that Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have committed widespread sexual violence in areas under their control, amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity. The violence, which primarily targets women and girls but also men and boys, includes rape, gang rape, sexual slavery and brutal treatment designed to terrorise civilians. The report highlights the urgent need for protection, accountability and victim support, as medical and legal assistance to survivors is severely lacking due to the destruction of health facilities in Sudan. read more
