Women in Exile & Friends

Women in Exile' is an initiative of women with migration biographies who came together in Brandenburg in 2002 to fight for their rights. They decided to organize themselves as a women's group because they have made the experience that women with migration experience are two-fold victims of discrimination: On the one hand they are excluded by racist laws and at the same time they are discriminated against as women. Women in Exile e.V. was founded in Potsdam in 2011 and is recognized as a non-profit organization. In 2011, 'Women in Exile' built up the group 'Women in Exile & Friends', which also includes solidarity activists without a refugee background. Together they bring migration policy demands from a feminist perspective to the public.
