Prison sentence requested for Salvini

In Italy, the conflict between the judiciary and the Meloni government is escalating. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is trying to protect her deputy Matteo Salvini from a prison sentence. The public prosecutor's office is demanding six years in prison for Salvini for preventing 150 migrants from entering a safe harbour when he was interior minister in 2019.
