Italy to dismantle migrant tent city in Gioia Tauro

Italy has approved plans to dismantle the so-called migrant tent city in Gioia Tauro, which houses seasonal agricultural workers, as part of a broader urban and social redevelopment project in the area. Funded with 10 million euros, the project aims to replace the tent city with a "solidarity factory" and improve local infrastructure, social services, and the environment by December 2027. read more
