Each month, we monitor and collect data on the developments in the Central Mediterranean.

Our goal is not to collect plain numbers, but rather gather relevant information about all crossings and activities at sea. This includes the monitoring of Europe’s failure to provide assistance to people in danger, the condition of people on board or the inhumane and often illegal behavior of authorities at sea.

We mourn the 510 women, men and children who died or are considered missing in September only due to EU’s deadly border policy. The number of unreported cases is probably much higher. Europe kills!

The Mediterranean remains the most dangerous escape route in the world. This is what is happening at EU’s borders on our watch. We demand safe passage and freedom of movement for all!
