The NGO Decree or how the Italian government is trying to get rid of the annoying civilian rescue at sea

Around 11 percent of the refugees in the Central Mediterranean are rescued by civilian rescue ships. Despite this low number, the Italian government under post-fascist Giorgia Meloni saw it necessary to issue an "NGO decree", which passed the Council of Ministers on 28 December. (Article in German)
