According to the government of Mali, there are nearly seventy people missing in the shipwreck of a large canoe laden with migrants bound for Spain, 25 of them Malians. ‘The passengers of the boat bound for Spain initially amounted to eighty people’ and “among the victims, twenty-five young Malians are unfortunately identified,” the government in Bamako said in a press release. Of the eleven survivors, nine are Malians, according to the statement. read more
